Jurisdiction

With this data privacy statement, we would like to explain in which way, to which extent and for which purpose we collect, store and use data.

The legal framework for data protection is provided by the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telemedia Act (TMG).

Collection of general information

Once you have accessed our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the Internet service provider domain name and further information. The information collected does not allow us to draw any conclusions about your person. This information is necessary for us to correctly deliver the content of the website requested by you and is mandatory when using the Internet. This kind of anonymous information is statistically evaluated by us to enable the optimization of our Internet presence and the technology behind it.

Cookies

Similar to many other websites, we use so-called "cookies". Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This process enables us to automatically receive certain data, such as IP address, browser type, operating system used and connection to the Internet.

Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to a computer. Based on the information contained in cookies, we can facilitate your navigation and ensure that the website is displayed correctly.

Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.

Our website can also be viewed without cookies. Internet browsers are regularly set to accept cookies. This can be deactivated at any time via your browser settings. To find out how to change these settings, use the help functions of your Internet browser. Please note that individual functions of our website may not work if you have disabled the use of cookies.

The use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users interact with the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. In the event that IP anonymization is activated on this website, however, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator.

The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).

You can prevent the collection by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set that prevents future collection of your data when visiting this website: Disable Google Analytics

For more information on terms of use and data protection, please visit https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/. We would like to point out that on this website Google Analytics has been extended by the code "gat._anonymizeIp();" to ensure anonymized collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking).

Embedded YouTube videos

We embed YouTube videos on our website. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with a YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. This tells YouTube which pages you are visiting. If you are logged into your Youtube account, Youtube can assign your surfing behavior to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your Youtube account beforehand.

Once a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behavior.

If you have deactivated the storage of cookies for the Google Ad program, you will not have to deal with such cookies when watching Youtube videos. However, YouTube also stores non-personal data in other cookies. If you would like to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser.

Further information on data protection at "Youtube" can be found in the provider's privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/

SSL encryption

This website uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as requests that you send to us. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and the lock symbol, which can also be found in your browser line. If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Comment function

If comments or other contributions are written and published on our website, we store the IP address, the user name and the time of creation. This data is collected for security reasons, as the provider can be prosecuted for illegal content (prohibited propaganda, insults, etc.), even if is was created by a third party. In such cases, the information is used to determine the identity of the author.

Newsletter

If you register for our newsletter or to receive monthly reports, the data entered is used exclusively for this purpose or to inform you about circumstances that are relevant to this service or registration. To send out corresponding newsletters and reports, we use an external service provider who receives the required data only for the purpose of sending out emails and may not use it for other purposes. In the course of recipient statistics, we record and store whether and when newsletters or reports were opened and links contained therein are used. This data is not passed on to third parties.

A valid e-mail address is required to receive the newsletter or monthly reports. The IP address and the date on which you registered for the newsletter are also stored. This data serves as proof in case of misuse, if a foreign e-mail address is registered for the newsletter. To further ensure that an e-mail address is not improperly entered into our distribution list by third parties, we work in accordance with the law and use the so-called "double opt-in" procedure. Within the framework of this procedure, the registration for the newsletter, the sending of the confirmation e-mail and the receipt of the registration confirmation are logged.

The consent for the storage of your data, your e-mail address and its use for newsletter dispatch can be revoked at any point. In each newsletter and on the website, we provide you with a link to revoke your consent. You also have the option of informing us of your wish to revoke via the contact options mentioned in this document.

Deleting or blocking of data

We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data economy. Your data is therefore only stored for as long as it is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as stipulated by the various storaged periods provided for by law. After the respective purpose has ceased to exist or these periods have expired, the corresponding data is routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with the statutory provisions.

Your rights to information, correction, blocking, deletion and objection

You have the right to obtain information about your personal data stored by us at any time. Likewise, you have the right to correction, blocking or, apart from the mandatory data storage for business processing, deletion of your personal data. Please contact us for this purpose. You will find the contact details at the top of this page.

To ensure the blocking of data can be taken into account at any time, this data must be kept in a locked file for control purposes. You can also request the deletion of data, unless there is an obligation to legally archive it. If such an obligation exists, we will block your data upon request.

You can make changes or revoke consent by notifying us accordingly with effect for the future.

Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. The competent supervisory authority in matters of data protection law is the state data protection commissioner of the federal state in which our company is based. A list of data protection officers and their contact details can be found under the following link:
https://www.bfdi.bund.de/DE/Infothek/Anschriften_Links/anschriften_links-node.html.

Data portability

You have a right to data portability, provided that the processing is based on your consent (Article 6 (1) sentence 1 a) or Article 9 (2) a) DSGVO) or on a contract to which you are a party and the processing is carried out with the help of automated procedures. The right to data portability in this case includes the following rights, provided that this does not affect the rights and freedoms of other persons: You may request us to provide you with the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, common and machine-readable format. You have the right to transfer this data to another responsible individual without hindrance on our part. To the extent technically feasible, you may request that we transfer your personal data directly to another responsible individual.

Changes to our privacy policy

We reserve the right to occasionally adapt this data protection declaration so that it always complies with the current legal requirements and to implement changes to our services in the data protection declaration, e.g. when introducing new services. The new data protection statement will then apply to your next visit.
